Festive Nightclub Attire Encouraged
The Bates Auction is a great night to socialize with other parents from your child's class while meeting new people from other grades. We also plan to raise lots of money to help with technology funding, creative arts support, field trip busing, and teacher enrichment and support.
ABOUT STUDIO 54
IN 1977, STEVE RUBELL, A RESTAURANT OWNER, AND IAN SCHRAGER, A LAWYER, BOUGHT AN OLD THEATER AT 254 WEST 54TH STREET IN NEW YORK CITY. THEY TURNED IT INTO ONE OF THE BEST KNOWN NIGHTCLUBS IN HISTORY. RUBELL AND SCHRAGER PUT UP A VELVET ROPE IN FRONT OF THE DOOR, AND A DOORMAN DECIDED WHO GOT IN. THE CLUB WAS KNOWN FOR IT'S THEATRICAL SETS AND FLASHING LIGHTS. IT WAS ALWAYS PACKED WITH PEOPLE DANCING TO LOUD MUSIC. RUBELL AND SCHRAGER'S FINAL PARTY AT STUDIO 54 WAS ON FEBRUARY 4, 1980.
